Paul O'Connor AKA Longbox Graveyard & his guest & good friend the former Editor In Chief of the legendary Malibu Comics Chris Ulm spend this episode talking the good and bad points of Iron Man 3, as well as all the other Marvel Movies, and even veer off into unexpected territory like Judge Dredd. A ton of fun for us all.

April 12, 2013 09:26 AM PDT
Well, this episode begins on a mighty fine note as Brett, Chris, Keith dig into The Weekly News with Cub Reporter K sponsored by Comicosity (http://www.comicosity.com/) and begin to talk this week's main subject, the maverick's of comics when screech!!!! Mo shows up fashionably late and the show goes off the rails. First he forces them to go back for more news, reads a twitter thread he was involved with that's not quite pg, takes over the mavericks topic from Chris and ends the show telling a crazy dream he had. His exscuse is he got a concussion Sunday, and is still suffering some effects (he actually did). Crazy but funny train wreck radio here. Also some of the guys infamous review section WeViews featuring Colonize, Ultron 1 AU, GI Joe Cobra 1, Kiss Solo 1, and Theremin. Brett ends it off with an interview with Shane Turgeon from the Edmonton Expo, and they talk about the Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo coming up shortly. Some great stuff here folks.WTC Episode 73 - The Jump On Point
April 07, 2013 09:07 AM PDT
Hey guys it's Mo here and I want to say I have new appreciation for the absent Brett's editing skills this week as left to me this show is up a little later than usual. It also features my heavy breathing, co-host Chris's microphone feedback, and Keith talking much quieter than the rest of us. Sigh... Brett is a miracle worker. Still, this is a really fun show with The Weekly News with Cub Reporter K (sponsored by http://www.comicosity.com/) and WeViews including Thanos Rising #1, Harbinger Wars #1, Batwing #19, Polarity #1, and Knuckleheads #1... Whew We also have another edition of Chris's Comic Book Attractions this time featuring the fine little animated film Avengers Next: Heroes of Tomorrow. Plus this show's main topic is me and the guys try to figure out the 5 main things a comic needs to be to be a successful jump on point, so listen up because the fun never stops on We Talk Comics!!!WTC Show 72 - It's Showtime!

Then the boys throw down as Mo hosts The WTC Comic Book Trivia Contest seeing Brett, Chris and Keith compete for bragging rights on geek knowledge. Listen along and see if you all know the answers while cheering on your favorite.
And in this week's review section, the world favorite WeViews, the guys take a look at Guardians Of The Galaxy #1 from Brian Michael Bendis & Steve McNiven over at Marvel, Mark Waid's take on The Green Hornet #1 from publisher Dynamite as well as the new original (very original) series from Jonathan Hickman & Nick Dragotta East of West #1 through Image Comics.WTC Show 71 - Same Day Digital

Plus something very special, as after looking at the new book by Clive Barker published by Boom Studios, Hellraiser: Dark Watch #1, we are ecstatic to present an interview we thought lost from nearly 2 years ago with the man synonymous with with one of the most iconic horror figures in film history, the man who played Pinhead in 8 films, the legendary Doug Bradley!

February 15, 2013 10:11 AM PST
Hey kids. It's the 66th episode of We Talk Comics, except this one is sub-titled we don't talk comics, but don't worry, we still do... sort of. We do have The Weekly News with Cub Reporter K (sponsored by Comicosity http://www.comicosity.com/) covering the most important news stories of the past week including predictions on what books will get the axe in DC's latest round of cancellations, plus we have our usual WeViews section on Secret Avengers #1, Katana #1, and Uncanny X-Men #1. But what is the story behind this month's ominous title? It's just that we wanted to talk some other geek stuff with less of a comic theme like movies, TV, cartoons & more, so download and listen to a show a little different, but also the same, and after visit our friends at The Comics Podcast Network (http://www.comicspodcasts.com/) too.The Longbox Graveyard Podcast Show 9: A tale of Two Pitches

Paul O'Connor AKA The Longbox Graveyard returns for a very special and unique podcast unlike any other he's ever done
We open the show with a full version of the classic song "Eve of Destruction" by the 1st group to ever record and release it 60's hit makers The Turtles. LBG then quickly gets you up to date on the latest in his universe and blog (http://longboxgraveyard.com/) before bringing on his very special guest...
From LBG “The subject is a conversation between me and my son Miles O’Connor about Holy Terror, Frank Miller’s original graphic novel about a superhero response to 9/11, as seen through his eyes, those of a fifteen year old who has never known a world without that event”
This is something showing the strength of the unique form of a podcast for Longbox Graveyard with a father who wishes to share his love for comics with his son and an observant young man who has more to teach all of us than you might imagine
Finally the show ends with a full acoustic live version of Eve of Destruction from the man who recorded the best known version of the song in 1965 Barry McGuire in Boston July 2004 backed by legendary Christian artist Don Francisco & his wife Wendy. We're very proud to host this show and hope you all enjoy and please spread the word by rating on iTunes, hitting the social media buttons and more.
And if you want any more info about any of the topics talked about on the show you can find out more below

O-U-TWTC Special Edition Interview - Malibu Memories with Chris Ulm & Dave Olbrich
May 26, 2012 03:58 PM PDT
We Talk Comics returns with a fantastic interview sponsored by Comicosity (http://www.comicosity.com/) with former Editor In Chief of Malibu Comics Chris Ulm as well as Co-Founder/Publisher of Malibu Dave Olbrich.
The early 90's were one of the most controversial, innovative, volatile and exciting times in comic book history and these two gentlemen were there at the front line of it all with Malibu, whose importance in discovering new talent, innovating modern coloring techniques still helping to shape the way you read today, and publishing of The Ultraverse line cannot be overstated.
We have stories of starting a Black & White publisher in the 80's just after the TMNT boom died down, discovering and publishing new talent and books such as Men In Black, as well as early stories of Jim Lee and Rob Liefeld with his book Youngblood.
Find out about the early days of the founding of Image as Malibu was the Publisher of Record for that company as they started. Inside stories of how Malibu ended up working with them, and how that partnership dissolved.
Learn how the Ultraverse 1st formed and who was ALMOST one of the founding fathers. Stories of the inception and reception of that line, the Bravura line that came shortly after, and the game company they had known as Malibu Interactive.
You'll also get inside details you won't know on how Malibu was purchased by Marvel Comics and why as well as DC Comics surprise role in this, and the downfall of The Ultraverse line once that occurred in a way you likely haven't heard before.
All this plus stories of literary and comic book legends Larry Niven, Walt Simonson, Steve Gerber, Howard Chaykin and more, and Dave makes a request to end this show with the very appropriate AC/DC song Back In Black
We want to thank them for taking time with us, and you can follow Chis's current work at Appy Entertainment (www.appyentertainment.com/) and check out Dave's blog Funny Book Fanatic (http://funnybookfanatic.wordpress.com/) to get more inside stuff on Malibu as well as his other thoughts. And a very special shout out and thanks to our friend Paul O'Connor (http://longboxgraveyard.com/) for making all this possible.
And check out our friends at Comic Podcast Network (www.comicspodcasts.com/) of which we our happy to be affiliatedWTC Show 34 - We Talk Comics Goes 90's Part 1

Time for a Quantum Leap as We Talk Comics goes back in the 1st of a multi part look at the sometimes awesome, sometimes terrible, but always interesting 90's in the world of comics.
After the Weekly News with Cub Reporter K sponsored by Comicosity (http://www.comicosity.com/) it's off to this week's big topic
We start at the beginning, talking Marvel's place as leader of the industry in the early part of the decade, DC's place in the market, the emergence of Image and Valiant and how Dark Horse lived up to it's name.
All this plus we spend a few minutes with veteran comic book creator Ken Steacy and a little music to end it all featuring late singer Joey Ramone to celebrate his birthday
So pour a big glass of whatever you fancy and sit back with your favorite comic crew
O-U-TWTC Show 33 - An Hour With Peter David
May 11, 2012 12:19 PM PDT
One of the coolest things ever is on this week as we give you almost a full hour of great audio with famous writer of stuff Peter David.
First after introductions is The Weekly News with Cub Reporter K, now proudly sponsored by Comicosity (http://www.comicosity.com/)
A loose format this week as no official WeViews but the Brett, Chris, Keith and Mo took the time to discuss quickly what they read with 3 huge books from IDW this week, John Byrne's Trio, Steve Niles & Bernie Wrightson's Frankenstein Alive, Alive & Night of A Thousand Wolves plus Vertigo's Mystery In Space and Marvel Zombies-Destroy
But the special treat this week is the time spent with Peter David. We all know he's a terrific writer but far more important than that (or than being a terrific artist, athlete, singer or whatever) is to be a terrific person, and Peter David was most certainly that to us. He both let Mo interview him for a few minutes and also allowed us to record the question and answer panel he did at the Calgary Expo where you not only hear stories about his work in comics but in video games and movies as well. His interactions he tell us about with Will Smith is truly classic. This is great for fans of not just comics but story telling in general, and we want to thank Peter David so much for his gracious ways.
So stream or listen, as Earthworm Jim would say, it's groovy
